Little Prince is a wonderful entity for finding plants for indoor or outdoor needs. Offering simply beautiful plants with a smile is something I look for when ordering online garden goods.
A good friend tagged me in a post about wearing plants for the holidays at the end of the worldwide period of pausing. Let me tell you – it was the right gift to make me smile after completing two books and working full-time. At that time, I was emotionally exhausted. A reason to smile was just what the doctor ordered and I knew it had to be plant related. Happily receiving permission to just be silly, I placed a variegated Spider plant on my head. Smiling as I took the photo, I could feel my joy of being amidst my plant’s return. After submitting the photo, Little Prince of Oregon sent the prize of a few houseplants which I added to my plant Queendom.
This year, I sought them out at the Mid-Atlantic Nursery and Trade Show (MANTS) to thank them personally for the uplifting box of plants at the perfect time. The display of plant offerings was delightful. I discovered Little Prince offers not just indoor plants, but outdoor plants as well.
I have fallen in love with unique leaves. Fatsia japonica has a leaf that captured my attention over ten years ago while living in Virginia. I first noticed the large leaves of the Fatsia at a conference in Virginia Beach. The beauty of this leaf remains clear in my mind. Little Prince had a variegated form in the tray of outdoor plants. These plants were healthy and caused me to consider if I was ready to welcome a few into my garden at The Cottage. As my zone has changed, perhaps placing this in a protected spot will help it survive. I guess I will find out once I decide where it can be planted as a filler plant for my part shade garden.
No matter how hard I tried to focus, a leaf on the display continually distracted me. I wanted to reach out and touch it to see if it was real. In my mind, it looked like something from Little House of Horrors. Little Prince made a lasting impression and made me smile.
Beau Chateau, a tropical Begonia was soft to the touch and quite the leaf. I made note of this and knew I needed to learn more about Begonia care so I could invite Beau to my indoor garden.
Amid a long-awaited snowstorm, I received a box from Little Prince. That particular week, my concern was about the amount of snow and having a snow party. Upon opening the box, I began to smile.
Little Prince left no stone unturned when it came to packaging for any temperature extremes. To be honest, many times, mail-order plants arrive a bit disheveled or with too much packaging. Little Prince packed the plants perfectly and included a tip sheet on what to do next.
With instructions like this, there is no room for error. I followed every step. My curiosity peaked as I kept looking at the cylinder. It couldn’t be…

Little Prince – you made my week. Now to go through the website and procure just a few plants…or at least try. There might be a problem with the word few, however, I will do my best. Something tells me that any plant company providing royal treatment to mail-order plants must also provide zone-appropriate, unique plants for the outdoor garden as well.
