Garden Speaking & Workshops

Say goodbye to boring lunch hour lectures or an evening online discussion that puts you to sleep.
I absolutely love speaking to groups of all ages and sizes and would be thrilled to come to share my love of gardening with your group.
I guarantee that during the presentation or workshop, your attendees will be smiling, laughing, engaged, and excited to get out and garden!
Great Garden Talks in Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Beyond.
Those are my stomping grounds, but I have been known to travel almost anywhere.
If you want me to go with your group to Paris and talk plants while we sip coffee and eat croissants, I won’t say no. Just drop me a line and we’ll talk!
Garden Speaking Topics
Any talk can be customized to the group, but here are my most popular gardening presentations.
- Shade Gardening: No sun? No problem! Learn the best shade plants for the Mid-Atlantic region, how to combine them to create a calming oasis in your yard, and how to care for them.
- Xeric Gardens: Say what? Drought is a fact of life, but you don’t have to give up gardening because of it. I’ll teach you and your group how to plant a low-water landscape that’s high on curb appeal.
- Planting & Designing Container Gardens: This can be a hands-on workshop (material fees separate) or a demonstration. Your choice. Learn how to create long-lasting, snazzy container gardens for any season.
- Gardening 101: Are you and your group new to gardening and intimidated about getting started? Let’s get you on the right track with easy steps to get growing. Please let me know if you’re interested in growing edibles or want to focus on flowers and landscaping.
- The Garden as a Place of Resilience: How does gardening affect our spirit? Do we find peace in the weeds, or is it just something else to do? Allow me to share how I have found the garden to be a place of healing as well as a place to build up our inner resilience to a very new world.
