While I was in the midst of savoring my recent trip to Wave Hill in New York…it was also time to get in an Island frame of mind. Yep folks welcome to my world of mental multitasking…it keeps life interesting.
I arrived in the Grand Bahama’s last night for a week of whatever. I am determined to see more of the flora of the Island as soon as I get off the beach. It was a bit too much heat in the DC area for me to get outside, so I have a whole three months of sun to make up for….this will be hard….but I am up to the task…..a girl does get thirsty here though….I need to find the punch stations. The best hot wings, fish and chips and fried conch ever. I am at the Taino Beach Resort and I am definitely going to take advantage of some of the borrowed views through the palm trees that the sun shone through this morning. After breakfast I walked past some blooming ginger that was almost as tall as I am and a banana tree with some small bananas not yet ripe for the picking. Ahhhhhhh……….
Tomorrow more beach time, Lucaya and more beach time………………………waves….birds……and Wednesday is the Fish Fry on the beach………can’t wait to see the native people swaying to the music, laughing and for once at least everyone acts like family….and their is unity in the air……….
